The online course developer is an integral part of the internal training dept. development team. This person plays the lead role in developing online course materials based on subject matter expert guidance of the internal training dept. training managers. This person is NOT a subject matter expert in the various business or training topics areas; rather, this person is an online course development expert, using online authoring tools to create online courses using subject matter materials provided by training managers or business owners.
Assist internal training dept. training managers and vendors in creation of cutting-edge online training applications (courseware) consistent with internal training dept. standards.
Uses Lectora to create new and modify existing internal training dept. Courseware to conform to established company standards.
Assists members of the internal training dept. Team and its training/education partners to maximize use of Lectora and related technologies using established design guides and learning methodologies.
Provides advice/consulting to training managers on best practices for structuring online courseware to deliver an optimum learner experience.
Using knowledge of Dealer infrastructures (hardware, network topologies, etc.), assists other members of internal training dept. to integrate streaming video components within the online learning modules.
Reviews streaming video files provided by video production vendor and create SCORM compliant courseware from them.
Creates and maintains Lectora shells, templates and scripts for courseware creation. Oversees placement of all web-based content on QA servers.
Validates QA learning content prior to migration to Production environment to insure that online courses released to Production operate correctly mechanically.
As part of the course development process, works with training managers (customers) and the ICP team managers to smoothly manage the overall course development schedule and workload. Maintains status reports for ICP managers to monitor workload and schedule.

Technical:
Must have 2-4 years experience in using the Lectora online authoring tool to create online courseware delivered through a Learning Management System. Lecotra is the authoring tool that is used by internal training dept.
Must have experience with HTML coding perhaps light programming
Must be familiar with Java scripting
Should be familiar with Adobe Flash programming
Should have experience with embedding internet streaming video technologies as these are used extensively in the online courseware
Must have experience working in an large-scale learning management system in the area of online course development
Must be very proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
Non-Technical:
Must be able to have multiple development efforts underway at once, and accurately keep track of status and schedule so that online course development requests get delivered on time
